How does SF State protect students from on campus sexual violence?

TITLE XI

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects against discrimination on the basis of gender or sexual orientation which includes sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, and gender based dating and domestic violence and stalking.

The Title XI office on campus can provide students with more information regarding their Title XI rights and help survivors file a report

The SAFE Place

The SAFE Place provides crisis intervention, advocacy, and confidential Title IX support for Survivors dealing with past or recent incidents of sexual assault, dating or domestic violence, sexual harassment and/or stalking.

SAFE Place crisis counselors will  listen and help prioritize needs according to what a survivors says they need most whether it is physical care, the need to talk about the assault, resources for support, or safety concerns. We also help make referrals on-campus and off-campus. Crisis counseling is a confidential service.
